The Greenbrier Grotto is a caver's club in the Lewisburg, West Virginia area. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company in Maxwelton, WV. We invite anyone interested in caving to attend our meetings that start at 7PM.

Our Mission
The mission of Greenbrier Grotto is to protect and preserve the unique underground environment found in caves and karst areas. We encourage and teach responsible cave exploration, proper landowner relations, and fellowship among cavers.
Our Vision
To spread the love for caving while educating new particpants how to properly and safely enjoy the sport.
CONSTITUTION OF THE GREENBRIER GROTTO
of the NATIONAL SPELEOLOGICAL SOCIETY
1. The name of the organization shall be the Greenbrier Grotto of the National Speleological
Society (NSS).
2.The purpose of this Grotto shall be the same as that of the NSS, with the added goal of
furthering the aims of the NSS within the counties Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas
Counties, West Virginia.
3. Membership in the Greenbrier Grotto shall be extended to all persons who are interested in
caves and caving. Members are encouraged to join the NSS.
4. The Officers of the Greenbrier Grotto shall be composed of the Chairman, Vice Chairman,
Secretary, and Treasurer:
5. The Greenbrier Grotto of the NSS shall be organized without monetary profit to individual
members.
6.Any property held by the Greenbrier Grotto shall revert to the NSS in the event of dissolution of
the Grotto.
7. This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds favorable vote at any meeting of the Grotto,
provided that notice of proposed changes is in the hands of members 30 days prior to the date
of the meeting.
8.The Regulations of the National Speleological Society shall be binding
on the grotto. Any action inconsistent therewith shall be null and void.
The founders of the reactivated Greenbrier Grotto wish to draw in the many independent and novice cavers in the area who have no contact with organized caving. The grotto will offer the opportunity for individuals to learn the basics of caving along with safety, conservation techniques and landowner
relations. There are no other caving organizations in this area suitable for the novice caver.
